Varese Sarabande has announced the details of the soundtrack album for the dramatic thriller Captain Phillips. The album features the film’s original score composed by Henry Jackman (Wreck-It-Ralph, X-Men: First Class). The soundtrack will be released on October 15, 2013 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Check back on this page for audio clips. Captain Phillips is directed by Paul Greengrass (The Bourne Supremacy, United 93) and stars Tom Hanks in the true story of Captain Richard Phillips and the 2009 hijacking by Somali pirates of the US-flagged MV Maersk Alabama, the first American cargo ship to be hijacked in two hundred years. Catherine Keener is co-starring in the film, which will be released nationwide on October 11 by Sony Pictures.
